SCP-106's origin

Question

I saw in the gallery that the possible origin of SCP-106 (with SCP-3001) was not the same as the official version. Is this on purpose?

Because, from what I know, he was as soldier during the 1st World War, and not an ex-scientist.

Im still bot sure what the real origin is. There is also a story that scranton died ina n car accident through anomulous mean (props spelled it wrong).
