Question

Were there some scrapped ideas that you guys when through to work out the general game in its current state? And if so, would you tell us some of these scraped ideas?

Sure, we've had several ideas. And me and Tsuji (the "founders" of SCP: Ascension) had our own ideas before even meeting.Tsuji doesn't want his idea written down for some mysterious reason, so I'll just go over my own for the time being.

My idea was focused on the Security Division, where you run the day to day tasks of an ASO (Area Security Officer) with escorting D Class and Researchers, responding to containment breaches, terminating marked personnel, etc. I planned on it being open-world/story like a Fallout game, just on a smaller scale of the SCP facility. I was also on the fence of it being an FPS or cover-based TPS. I wanted to have random events and callouts mixed into a storyline you can follow.

This idea is still somewhat relevant to Ascension, just not as deeply. Ascension has turned into every idea we ever liked mixed into one big project. And we plan on making it a platform where people can create their own SCP project ideas within our modding capabilities and so on. It has become a much bigger mission since the original smaller-scale ideas we've thought of years ago.
